Lake Superior provided the perfect backdrop for another GSE Team Finland work session in early March. The team arrived in Duluth to warm welcome from Rotarians and friends of GSE from the Duluth/Superior Rotary Clubs. A special thanks to Rotarian and former GSE Team Leader to Taiwan MaryAnne Korsch for organizing a fabulous reception at Valentini’s! Our Team greatly appreciated the support, encouragement, and advice shared by GSE Alumni and local Rotarians. Also, THANK YOU to District Governor Don Cavalier and his amazing wife Mary for making the long drive from Crookston to join our Team for dinner. Don and Mary’s leadership and commitment to Team Finland has fostered life-long relationships and our Team is so grateful to Team Cavalier! This list of thank you’s would not be complete without thanking the great people at Valentini’s for great service, incredible food, and accommodating our Team and allowing us to stay late. If your travels take you to the Duluth area please stop in and thank them for supporting GSE Team Finland!
The rest of the weekend was dedicated to crossing items of the long “to-do” list. We met photographer Natalie Newton for a photo shoot. She was fantastic and fully embraced the spirit of GSE. Nat helped design our brochures, business cards, and thank you notes. Team Finland took a break for lunch and then went right back to work on building our presentation, photo book, photo slideshow, final uniform decisions, language training options, and planning our upcoming work session in Bemidji, Minnesota. GSE Team Finland left the Duluth work session with definite sense of accomplishment.
